Who does not like indulging their selves in some good food? I am a big fan of the food Dublin has to offer, a wide variety of cuisines as well as some good traditional food. Dublin is a city that is often admired for its creativity and innovation. A huge reflection that are the restaurants in this city. It is one of those places where you can never really run out of places to try new food. Every other week you hear about new restaurants opening in your area. The restaurant scene in the city is very active and kicking. From spicy to sweet and organic veggies to proper vegan, you can truly find everything here! Here are some of the best restaurants in Dublin, that you’ve got to try when you're there. Meet Me in The Morning Let’s start off with the first and most important meal of the day- breakfast. Meet me in the morning, a dreamy and cosy breakfast nook is such a nice place to start your day at. With coffee that is sure to wake you up with its aromatics and delectable cinnamon rolls, this is a place you mustn’t miss. Fluffy eggs, honey and sea salt toasts and granola- you’ve got so much to choose from. Meet me in the Morning is located at 49 Pleasants St, Saint Kevin's, Dublin 8. Brother Hubbard Located in a few locations around Dublin, this indie café is the perfect place for a good brunch. In 2012, when the recession frightened many, Brother Hubbard opened its doors. Their intention was to provide simple and interesting food, and this is seen through their food. Almost everything here is made from scratch, and the freshness of the food really comes through. With some of the most delicious middle eastern dishes like Falafel, hummus, labneh and kofta, you’ll leave feeling happy and satisfied. Dublin Pizza Company Who doesn’t love pizza? It’s cheesy, it’s saucy, it’s comforting and it’s delicious. The Dublin Pizza Company has some of the best pizzas in the city. Italian style cooking, with Iris green products- it doesn’t get better than this. Located at 32, 2 Aungier St, Dublin Southside, Co. Dublin, they’ve also got vegetarian and vegan options. From a four-cheese pizza to a Margherita pizza, and the yummiest sides to flavourful dips, you’ll certainly find something you love here. Spice Village This Indian restaurant serves authentic Indian cuisine with an ambience to go along with it. The dishes are made fresh, with flavourful ingredients. Spice Village has an extensive menu that focuses on bringing the flavours of India to Dublin. Chaat, Chicken tikka, Goan prawn curry and Dhansak are some of the well-known dishes they’ve got. However, the menu covers flavours from all over India. The desserts too are sweet and delicious. Spice Village is a great place to satisfy those Indian food cravings. Banyi Japanese Dining Located on 3-4 Bedford Row, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, Banyi is on one of the most happening streets of Dublin. With some of the finest sushi and authentic Japanese cuisine, it is one of the most popular restaurants in Dublin. They’ve got handcrafted sushi, fresh sashimi and tea. All of this can be enjoyed in an aesthetic and calming Japanese ambience. It is almost like Banyi has managed to create a title piece of Japan right here in Dublin. Clanbrassil House Clanbrassil House is located on Clanbrassil St Upper in Dublin 8. They’ve got a mix of a tasting menu as well as an a la carte. The main focus of the food at Clanbrassil House is to show the changing Irish seasons. They source their food and wines locally and the ingredients are so fresh. Potato bread, short ribs and brown sugar cakes are some of the delicious dishes you’ll find on the menu. They have set menus, so you can check out their menus and make a reservation based on what you’d like to eat, and on which day. Terra Madre Terra Madre is a small and independently run café, that serves some of the most authentic Italian food you’ll find in Dublin. It is located on the north quay of the river Liffey, which is between the famous Ha’Penny Bridge and O’Connell Bridge. The ingredients and wines are sourced with such care, and the methods used are traditional- some even centuries old. Their passion is seen through the food and wine they serve. From the softest burrata to the most flavourful pasta, you’ll have a good time here. Host The Host is yet another Italian restaurant in Dublin with a vibe of its own. Their motto is “food is meant to be shared”. So, their menu is curated in such a way that small plates, hearty meats and pasta can all be shared. Handmade pasta is the best way to eat pasta, and the Host has mastered this. The wine menu here is also impeccable, and the wine is sourced from natural winemakers. The vibe of the restaurant itself is very relaxed, with bar stools and high wooden chairs. The Host is a nice mix of the modern and the traditional, and I’d recommend you have a meal here while you’re in Dublin. Elephant and Castle Elephant and Castle is a popular restaurant, with multiple outlets in Dublin. It is a great place to go to for some American cuisine. Crispy fried chicken, spicy chicken wings and juicy burgers will make you want to come back for more. I’d highly recommend the Signature Elephant Burger, with bacon, curried sour cream and vintage cheddar cheese. The flavours here are so addicting, and I’d definitely recommend you try this place out. Cleaver East In the heart of the Temple Bar is this contemporary restaurant, Cleaver East. The menu is interesting because it combines Irish-sourced ingredients with the influences of East Asia. Each bite you take is a flavour bomb. From the juiciest meats to the most delectable desserts, you’ve got a lot to choose from at Cleaver East. Their cocktails are also very creative, with a “Vanilla Chocolate Old Fashioned” being an interesting one. This is a great place to come to with your friends and family, for a group dinner or group brunch. La Maison If you’re one for French food, La Maison is for you. Located at 15 Castle Market, Dublin 2, this is a French bistro in the heart of Dublin City. The authenticity of this place is seen in the food, the ambience and the art. As you walk up the stairs to the dining room, Doisneau photos add a sense of romance. The dining room is airy, offering views of Castle Market Street below. You’ll find some of the yummiest French food here, from flavourful entrées to perfectly cooked meats. Chapter One One of the fancier restaurants in Dublin, Chapter One is one of the most unique dining experiences in all of Ireland. As you sit in the luxurious dining rooms, your unforgettable experience begins. The food and the atmosphere are a culmination of different cultures, with a clean and modern style. They’ve got some delicious entrées, and their tasting menu is nothing but perfect. They've also got matching wines to go with every dish. If you’re looking to have an innovative and fancy meal, Chapter One is definitely the place. Umi Falafel The idea behind the name “Umi” is that it means “mother” in Arabic. This means that they put in as much love and effort into their food as a mother would. The falafel mix is prepared fresh every morning and the flavours are just wonderful. From the airiest salads to the softest bread, and the creamiest hummus to the crispiest falafel, I would highly recommend Umi Falafel. There’s something about Mediterranean cuisine, it’s delicious, it’s wholesome and it makes you feel good. Eathos Creative flavours, fresh ingredients, talented chefs and passion- Eathos has got it all. It is basically a cafe and patisserie with some of the most aesthetic and delicious dishes that will definitely look good on your Instagram feed! Eathos focuses on healthy living and yummy flavours, and it is definitely one of the places you must try when you’re in Dublin. Shakshuka, salads, full Irish breakfast plates, sandwiches and vegan dessert options are what you’ll find on the menu. Fade Street Social Fade Street Social is a restaurant and cocktail bar with creative and fresh food. The restaurant has a dinner menu with oysters, flatbreads and fish. The lunch menu is a little simpler, but with delicious options nevertheless. They’ve also got a special Christmas dinner menu with traditional and innovative dishes. The cocktail menu pays homage to some of the wild characters who’ve been in Dublin and thus, the drinks are named after them. The cocktail menu is a really interesting one, catering to the likes of many. Bunsen Bunsen is a place for those who love fast food. The burger buns are handmade, the produce is fresh, the meat is freshly minced and the cheese is oh-so gooey. Bunsen has some of the best burgers you’ll find in all of Dublin. To go with the burgers, they’ve got hand-cut, shoestring and sweet potato fries. If you want to make it a complete meal, they also serve milkshakes. Bunsen is basically like a small fast-food joint, and thus, has so many locations around the city. If you’re on a budget and want some flavour punches with your food, Bunsen is the place to go to.
