Austria is a beautiful country in Europe. Visiting Austria was one of the best things I did in 2022. When planning a trip, whichever one it is, there are a few things to keep in mind. The popular tourist attractions, the budget and the best time to visit are points that are important to look at. About Austria Austria, with its picturesque landscapes, beautiful architecture and adventure sports is on the list for many. It is one of the most popular holiday locations in the world. This is completely justified- there’s something for everyone here! Best Time to Visit Austria Just like many places, Austria has got four seasons, with each one bringing a new experience. If you want to visit the countryside, and the lakes and take in the greenery, the summers are ideal. If you are one for winter sports and snow activities, winter is the time you should consider. Saying this, however, there is an ideal time suggested, for you to get the best out of your trip to Austria. Summer in Austria The peak season in Austria is from June to August, which is the summer. With the average temperate being about 19° C, it is comfortable and pleasant. Hiking, cycling, swimming in the lakes and water sports are some of the things you can do during this season. Granted, this is not the best time to visit Austria in general, but winter over here comes with its fair share of pros. As I mentioned, skiing, snowboarding and other winter sports will be in full swing during winter in Austria. This is one of the best ways to experience the beauty of the Alps. What’s more, is that Christmas, especially in Vienna is absolutely incredible! Alright, so now that you’ve got an idea about the ideal times to visit Austria based on what you want to do, let’s talk about a few more things to check out in this country. 10 Exciting Things to do in Austria Werfen Ice Caves The Werfen Ice Caves are magical, naturally formed ice caves that are just a short distance from Salzburg city. You can take a guided tour to learn about the history and formation of these caves. This is an enchanting experience you must not miss. Swarovski Kristallwelten Created by artist André Heller, it translated to “Swarovski Crystal World”. With magnificent art made by artists from all over the world, the Chambers of Wonders at Swarovski Kristallwelten makes you believe in miracles for a few moments. A playground, a restaurant and a shopping area are also some of the things you will find at Swarovski Kristallwelten. Innsbruck There are so many things to explore in this little Austrian town. The Alpine zoo, the Tyrolean cuisine and the Nordkette, to name a few are some popular attractions here. Salzburg Old Town With stunning baroque architecture, picturesque views all around and aesthetic streets, Salzburg’s old town has got a charm of its own. This part of the Austrian city is also home to some of the most visited places in the city. These include Mozart’s Birthplace, Getreidegasse street (which is a popular shopping street) and the Hohensalzburg Fortress. Area 47- The Largest outdoor adventure park in Austria With wakeboarding, white water rapids and extremely steep slides, this park scream adventure. As they claim, it is “recommended by true heroes”. They’ve got activities in water, on land or even in the mountains, and these combine thrill with nature and wild challenges. If you’re looking to get that adrenaline rush, head over to Area 47 and have the experience of a lifetime. Hallstatt This village in Austria is located on the shore of the Hallstatt lake and is one of the trendiest places to visit in all of Europe. The Welterbeblick, which is the skywalk is an extremely popular attraction here. In addition to the bird’s eye view, you can get from the Welterbeblick, the Central Square, the Lutheran Church and the Waldabachstrub Waterfall are places you must check out.
